Pros:
Really liked the ability to use the 550 in my door slammer and my bike. Routes are good and locating food, lodging and ATM's are easy.
Cons:
Be ready to spend 4-6 hours to download the streetmap.I had to "retry" after a download failed, which added more time to the process.

This is a very good GPS and the price reflects that. Buyer should not have to spend so much time downloading map1

Pros:
This is the second one I own. That probably says it all. Great device for many reasons!
Cons:
When flying from one city to another, it takes the device several minutes, even up to a half hour to relocate satellites.
Comment:
I don't think there is a better GPS device on the market than a Garmin. I also own a Garmin Zumo. I sure the tachnology will improve over time, but even as it is, it's an awesome tool for finding your way around

Pros:
Great unit for motorcyclists. Waterproof, shockproof, left hand operations, very good touch-screen, great phone GUI, text to speech, decent battery life (4hours).
Cons:
Could use more base memory, but 2010 North America maps fits, Bluetooth support is good but not great. Does work very well with Scala Cardo Q2 helmet communicators.

Pros:
I did not think I would have any need for the Bluetooth and I have no intention of talking on the phone while riding the bike, but it is useful to have the screen display who is calling; now all I need is for someone to come up with a Bluetooth radar detector. Riding log distance, XM is a must have item for me and I don’t like too many things stuck on the bars and fairing; this unit incorporates the XM option. The touch screen is simple to use and works well with gloves on and the screen size is just right.
Cons:
None.
Comment:
I have owned other Garmin products for motorcycle use but nothing as all around good as this. I researched this unit and looked at everything out there designed specifically for motorcycle use and this is the one.

Pros:
we got this for my bike. but with the cold weather here we have not tried it on it yet. but we have been using it in the car and find it very easy to use and read. realy like the touch screen. hooking up the bike mount was easy and painless.
Cons:
dont really care for the way the bike mount is set up when you are not using the unit. you have this bulky mount sitting on your bars and looks out of place with out the unit in the mount. we only think that because we own a custom Harley. other then that we cant find any. but we have not used it on the bike yet to see how it will do.

its a great unit and easy to use.over all it will do what i bought it for and i think from what we know now it should be just fine on the bike as well

Large size makes it easy read. Pivot mount a great idea. Easy to move from motorcycle to car. Easy to use.
Cons:
Some menus difficult to find.
