Pros:
Scanner works great. The ICE technology does a great job on problem areas. Plentiful ortment of film holders included.
Cons:
Doentation is weak. For such a capable scanner little attention is focused on teaching you how to use it.
Comment:
Be prepared to do your own research on how to apply Digital ICE.

Pros:
Wow what perfect machine for just about every need to scan something, I have been scanning my 30 plus year old 35m slides. I have been using the auto mode to do it, and they are coming out great. I know that can get even better results if I use either of the two other modes but when you have over 2000 of my own and anothe 2000 of my father-in laws who has the time. I set up the slides press the scan button clic scan on the pop-up, and let it do it''s thing it even saves the image to the hard drive for you. I''m empressed.
Cons:
The one thing that was was a negitive, was that some of the software that came with the machine does not work on my vista64 operating system. You would think that if the computing industry is going that way that the software on a new piece of hardware would work.

Pros:
Great scans both with film negs/chromes and also killer reflective scans. I haven''t had any problems with the hardware since I got the scanner and have absolutly been loving it.
Cons:
The software crashes sometimes and it requres you to set differet defaults for the 3 softwares that are included. Which can provide very frusterating when you are in a hurry to scan.
Comment:
Over all I have been very satisfied with the scanner. Optical quality is supurb!

Pros:
Excellent rendering and detail. Digital ICE is nice but takes a lot of CPU. Scan 12 slides at a time or 16 negs. Good color restoration and grain reduction features. 6400 dpi x 9600 dpi optical resolution & 48 bit color depth!
Cons:
It would be nice to save directly to PNG. When scanning to TIFF, you have to do 1 image at a time. This is not the scanner''s fault though. A firewire 800 port would make things faster! USB is not bad though.
Comment:
This scanner is awesome! Some minor tweaks on the software and a faster port of some kind would make this perfect.

Pros:
Excellent design and generates great scans. Relatively fast for scanning slides and negatives.
Cons:
Scanner was delivered with a bit of dust on the inside surface of the scanning gl.
Comment:
The scanner is sealed (usually a good thing) so there is no way to clean the inside of the gl. Contacted Epson and I must pay for their quality control lapse by paying for shipping to the service center. Four or five stars for the underlying scanner, 1 star for making customers pay for Epson''s quality control lapse.
