Pros:
Ease of navigation thru screens.
The mounting bracket with built-in charger.
Cons:
I have experienced some routing that was incorrect.
I haven't had time to set up or troubleshoot, but the remote voice recognition device gives me a prompt that there is too much distortion whenever a command is given by me.

Overall, the nuvi 855 is GREAT!! I had a 200 series model (until it was stolen) and decided that it was time for an upgrade.
One piece of advice is to avoid having your gps stolen, always park in visible, high profile area, if you must leave your Garmin in the vehicle. Otherwise, always take Garmin with you. If the mounting bracket is left attached to the dash or windshield in your car/truck, in all probability a would be thief is going to break in. Again, take your Garmin with you!!!

Pros:
great features and tools. Nice screen size, great volume from speakers, but don't buy the 855
Cons:
I had 2 nuvi855w in less than a month and they both freeze ramdomly. When it does, you cannot simply restart the system continue on ur merry way. The problem persists even after a reboot.

I don't know yet I haven't used it that much. But no complete instruction booklet. I had to print it from the internet

I was amazed that the voice command understood me being that I have a french accent. I say if it understand me, it understand every americans.

Pros:
large viewing screen, fairly simple to figure out, voice recognition.
Cons:
haven't figured out how to turn the thing off unless i disconnect it from the computer or car charger. takes a long time searching for a specific place that i ask it to locate

if i didn't like what i read about it i wouldn't have bought it. i haven't used it a lot yet because i bought it for a couple upcoming trips i'm taking. i will know more about it after the trips.

Delighted that the settings include the avoidance of Highways.
Cons:
System did freeze when I couldn't follow the directions for an extended period.

Pros:
This is a full featured yet fairly priced GPS unit. I particularily like the abiltiy to issue voice commands to the unit, rather than having to stop the car and program it via the touch screen.
