Pros:
Sharp, clean and a great lense. Its so great having a wide lense for a dSLR. So glad I bought this item.
Cons:
Only works as an EF-S, does not work for Canon D60 or 5D cameras.
Comments:
If you have the money, what a great addition to your lense collection.

Pros:
The lens is extremely wide and I tested it and it was also extremely sharp which didn''t surprise me being a Canon lens and Popular Photography also gave it high marks.
Cons:
Did not come with a lens shade, but otherwise a great lens. Remember- you can use it on the 20&30D- not a full frame.
Comments:
I bought the lens for some arch. photography jobs and I used the lens for 90% of the shots. My previous wide lens is the Canon 17-35-2.8 EF which is also a great lens, but sometime you need a wider lens especialy with a digital camera.

Bought this for a trip to Yellowstone and was not disappointed. Really allowed me to get some great landscape shots as well as some nice up-close detailed shots. Glad I made the purchase.

Pros:
This is one WIDE angle lens. So far, love this lens. For those of us who love landscapes, don''t waist money on a zoom, go for the wide angle.
Cons:
It won''t work with my future full frame camera purchase given it is an EF-S.

Harvey on Aug 06, 2010
Pros:
Quality, convienient, easy to oeprate lens. Great for ing intentional archetectual distortion shots, Vertical subjects, etc. Good quality for the subjects of wide scope.
Cons:
Since I already own a 17-85mm Canon lens, this lens adds very little additional range. In order to have perspective for a landscape, the foreground object must be often rediculously close (and often distorted) uing A Large Freighter on the Far Shore of the Hudson River creates a final picture where the freighter looks tiny and the cliffs opposite are dwarfed by water and/or sky. This is not a fault of Canon''s, but of the relation of the field of view to magnification.
Comments:
Though it was disappointing in terms of the advantages and additional perspectives that I hoped it would add to my existing lenses, I''m sure that over time I will get my money''s worth on the purchase.
