Works great for both my car and I drive a semi-truck for work. I work in the oil fields and you can have it make a line where you have been, this makes it easy to find your way back out of some of the fields we get into that have no real roads.
Very Good

Trip Planner. Hours of Service logger. Lifetime maps and traffic.
None really, but I'd like to have a max vehicle speed entry so my trip times can be determined by my max speed as opposed to the posted speed limit since my company has our trucks governed at 62mph. If this option actually exists, I haven't found it yet.
I have had other Garmin GPSs in the past that were designed for cars. I have been very happy with them so, choosing Garmin for my Trucking GPS choice was a no-brainer. I was not disappointed. This is a very powerful trucking tool. It does take some setup before it is ready to be used but if you download the user manual and actually read it you will find a wealth of information about how to make full use of this wonderful unit. I entered in a previous trip I had done that was a multi-drop, multi-fuelstop load to see how easy it was to use the trip planner and to see how accurately it would map the trip in relation to the route that I actually took. It was spot on. Before you can even use it in truck mode you have to feed it all of the information about your vehicle related to road use (height, width, weight, etc.). From this information it correctly routes you on roads that you can actually travel. As for actually using it for navigation, I will be doing that very soon but, based on my initial experience with it I cannot imagine that I will be disappointed with it.

Great GPS Unit. Must spend some time on set up and understanding basics of this unit to get functionality. Awesome graphics, touch screen, speed and sound.
When approaching a road restriction with your truck GPS doesn't give you very much info. Just "No Trucks Ahead" Must admit I'm still a new user and I use it more as a safety precaution. There may be a way to get more info on the restriction but have not tried to do this.
Great unit. Loaded with features for over the road truckers with Garmin reliability.

It is a valuable tool.
It is way overpriced and it should have included a simple slide in case. I picked an off brand perfect little leather case with magnetic closing at Best Buy for about 7 bucks. It also should have a carry all pouch. I’m using a toiletry zipper bag that holds everything nicely. What the heck am I getting for over 400 dollars for this thing? Why is it so much more than their other models? It really is a rip off and I can’t see much of a future for Garmin with products and pricing like this. And another thing, why is my unit in my 6 year old car more efficient? I can enter phone numbers in that one for locations. And the overhead map maneuvering is awful with this. Every tine I try and move the map it thinks I’m entering new locations.
I am new to the CDL world and I need to have this. Unfortunately I don’t have a choice.I wish there was an App for commercial driving for the I-Pad. The screen is bigger and better and at least for a little more money, with the I-Pad you’re getting something. With that I would also have Google maps, wi-fi, etc. Very disappointed.
