    Pros:
    This is an amazingly sophisticated, high quality scanner. It meets my needs as a stamp enthusiast. The resolution is amazing in that "intaglia" (raised printing) comes out in near 3D.
    Cons:
    The scanner is designed for sophisticated photographers who are already familiar with the nomenclature of that art and the manipulation of photos. It is brilliantly set up for for those that would like to manipulate film, slides and photos. I will use it for those purposes as a secondary interest, but my learning curve will be steep.

    This is a high quality scanner which is primarily designed for the sophisticated photographer. Be that as it may, it does work well with those that are hobbyists who need high definition, high contrast images of small items that can be then examined at high magnification.

    Pros:
    The scanner really does a great job. I have digitized boxes of photo negatives, photos, and some positive slides. I like the ability for corrections in the professional mode.
    Cons:
    As a photocopier, it is a bit unwieldy. I have to go to Windows to make this happen.

    At first the scanner would not work and after 2 hours with a tech from Epson, we gave up. Later, I thought to use a different USB plug and it worked perfectly. I would like an additional holder for slides. It is possible to order this from you?

    Pros:
    Fast, quality scans of prints and negatives. Nice build quality of unit and software package. PC Nation was right on with price and delivery time.
    Cons:
    The negative/slide carriers are a little flimsy.

    Consider ordering a firewire cable at the same time especially if you have a MAC with limited USB ports.

    Super fast - great quality, sturdy design, tons of different size slide scanning trays, software installed flawlessly on my mac.
    Cons:
    *not really a con* but there''s a ton of functionality and i''ll have to spend a weekend reading and playing to uncover it all!

    The best money i''ve ever spent on a scanner :) Even though I didn''t spend a lot of time reading the manual the quick start guide had me up and scanning in no time.

    Outstanding scanner, easy to use, built in calibration using supplied monoco it8 target works great. Couldn''t be more pleased. This is drum scanner quality at flatbed price.
    Cons:
    I wish the film holders were adjustable or it came supplied with a 5x7 holder.

    Pros:
    extremely sharp scans, fairly quick and very accurate.
    Cons:
    Takes up a good amount of space(footprint). slows down when using "ice", but the scan is sharp.
