Just place the ultra-thin charging pad on the desktop over the base's position, and place your phone, earbuds or other compatible mobile device on the pad for charging. The U280-Q01FL-UD is compatible with surfaces between 0.6 and 1.2 inches (15 to 30.5 millimeters) thick.
