8 IN PREMIUM IN-CEILING SUBWOOF CONTROL 440CS/T (PACK OF 2)

Part of the Control 400 collection's Premium Coverage Series, the Control 440CS/T is a high power, low distortion in-ceiling subwoofer, with a 200 mm (8 in) driver, built-in low-pass filter, and dual ports. The subwoofer is switchable for use as part of a 70V/100V distributed loudspeaker system with its 80-Watt transformer or as an 8Ω low-impedance speaker.

The system's 200 mm (8 in) woofer features a treated paper cone and high-performance magnet offering extended bass response for a warm full-bodied tone. The copper-clad aluminum voice coil wound on an aluminum former offers low distortion and high-sensitivity.

The Control 440CS/T features a built-in passive crossover network enabling it to be used as part of a subwoofer-satellite system. It provides high passed satellite outputs for use with either two or four satellite loudspeakers (not for one or three satellite speakers), resulting in a full range, wide-bandwidth, subwoofer-satellite system.

The Control 440CS/T's 8Ω impedance allows paralleling up to 2 speakers on a 4Ω capable amplifier. It may be driven by itself on an amplifier channel, sending it either a signal that has been actively low-passed earlier in the signal chain via DSP or a full-range signal, utilizing the built-in passive low-pass filter. For distributed systems, the UL-registered transformer is designed for exceptionally low-saturation, even at high drive levels, providing top quality, low distortion distributed sound character.

The stylish bezel-less grille fits seamlessly into a variety of architectural aesthetics. The integrated backcan on the Control 440CS/T combined with the C-ring support backing plate allows for quick and easy installation of the unit. The included white grille is paintable (grille backing is removeable and re-applicable for painting), and optional accessory grilles are available in black (JBL-MTC-440BG) and in square (JBLMTC-440SG, white only).

The Control 440CS/T is UL 1480A and UL 2043 listed.
